Medical Theory and Practice Curriculum
The Medical Theory and Practice high school curriculum has two purposes:
- To be used as a resource to create an a-g approved academic capstone course OR a CTE/ROP course for your health pathway program.
- To be used as a resource for your current health pathway courses
The curriculum is meant to be comprehensive, covering topics that would be present in a general Healthcare Essentials course along with the National Healthcare Foundation Standards. In addition, the curriculum focuses on the 5 career clusters:
- Therapeutic services
- Diagnostic services
- Health informatics
- Support services
- Biotechnology research and development.
A list of all units/topics in the curriculum is included.
Every unit includes a list of possible standards, medical application articles, activities/skills, and resources. In addition, all career clusters will included a PowerPoint for each topic and selected skills that the students will learn/perform within that topic.
